Recording a Transaction
Returning
to the Evaluation View, the
'Record' command button adjacent to the 'Graph' button is only used once the decision has been made
to establish a particular position. This button should not be clicked before the transaction have been executed,
so that the
Stock and Options prices appearing on the Evaluation View are a reflection
of the actual transaction. When the 'Record' button is clicked, a nonfunctioning
facsimile of the Evaluation View is created and stored as the Current View:
This
page is available for review at any time and can be quite useful when comparing
volatility, rates of return, or any other significant values when giving consideration to changing the
position.
The
transaction is also recorded on the Accounting View, where a bookkeeping
history of the position is stored and maintained. There are numerous
calculations and functions inherent to the Accounting View that will be
discussed further in the 'Monitoring' section of this Tutorial.
