Expiration Monitor
Once launched, Expiration
Monitor operates invisibly in the background independently of Covered Calls
Plus, ready to give warning as the expiration of an open option position
approaches.

Expiration Monitor is activated using the menu on the Initial View of
CC+ by choosing 'Tools/Expiration Monitor/Set to Run Continuously'. After the
program has been activated, it will automatically be started any time you reboot
your computer. The setting for the number of days prior to expiration that you
will be notified can be set using one of two methods: go to
'Start/Programs/Covered Calls Plus/Expiration Monitor' this will bypass Covered
Calls Plus, and go directly to
Expiration Monitor. From the menu, select
'Tools/Set Alert Day Range', this will open a input box where the present
setting will be displayed. Simply enter the time period you'd like, and then
click the 'OK' button. From inside CC+ the day range can be set from the Initial
View menu by choosing 'Tools/Expiation Monitor/Open for Use', and then selecting
'Tools/Set Alert Day Range' from the Expiration Monitor menu as was done using
the first method. A setting of six or seven days works well for me.
Each time that a position is
established, changed, or deleted, Expiration Monitor will be updated to reflect
the current portfolio of positions having open options. Every day, the program
will compare the expiration dates of any open options to the current date,
taking into consideration the Alert range. When any expiring options fall within
this range, Expiration Monitor will automatically appear on your desktop, with
all the positions approaching expiration listed in the drop down box. To open
any of these listed files just double click on the name of the file in the drop
down. This will open Covered Calls plus, and load the file that was clicked.
If a file is deleted, or the expiration date has passed, it
will no longer be displayed in the drop down box. Expiration Monitor can also be
used to display all
of the open option positions, regardless of their expiration
date. This can be done by going to the Expiration Monitor menu and selecting
'View/All Expiration Dates'. Again, any of the files listed can be viewed in CC+
by double clicking it's name in the drop down list in Expiration Monitor.
To deactivate Expiration Monitor, you will need to go to the Initial View of CC+ and choose 'Tools/Expiration Monitor/Stop Running Continuously' from the menu. Deactivation will not be complete until you restart your computer.
For now, this concludes the Covered Calls Plus Tutorial. Feed back is welcome, just go to the Initial View and select 'Contact Us' from the menu. Any suggestions you may have to improve the existing Tutorial or adding specific items to the discussion will be considered. Thanks in advance, Mark.
